The petitioner alleges denial of the career advancement benefit by not promoting him from stageII, Assistant Professor to Stage-III Assistant Professor. Mr. Ekramul Bari, learned advocate for the petitioner, submits that though the relevant College had repeatedly requested the Director of Public Instruction, West Bengal to consider the case of the petitioner, no response has been made by the said authority till date.

Mr. Bari has drawn attention of this Court by a letter dated June 17, 2022, issued by the College to the Director of Public Instruction, West Bengal in this regard.

In view of the above facts, I direct the Director of Public Instruction, West Bengal, to consider the representation dated June 17, 2022 filed by the College within a period of eight weeks from the date of

communication of this order. The Director of Public Instruction, West Bengal if necessary, shall hear the petitioner as well as the College in arriving at the decision in accordance with law.

Accordingly, W.P.A. 28414 of 2023 is disposed of.

Urgent certified photostat copy of this order, if applied for, shall be given to the parties as expeditiously as possible on compliance with all the necessary formalities.
