The petitioner is a Research Scholar in the Department of Physics at Aliah University. The Registrar (officiating) of the University, the respondent no.4 herein has issued a show cause notice bearing Memo No. AU/REG/0980/25 dated September 16, 2025 directing the petitioner to submit his explanation to the said show cause notice within 15 days from the date of receipt. The petitioner, by the said notice, has been debarred from all academic associated activities with immediate effect till submission of a satisfactory reply to the said notice.

The petitioner is alleging that in spite of giving a reply within time, the said show cause notice has not yet been disposed of.

The learned advocate for the petitioner submits that in terms of the statute of the University, the show cause notice is required to be disposed of by the Disciplinary Committee of the University, the respondent no.6 herein.

The said respondent no. 6 therefore is directed to dispose of the said show cause notice as expeditiously as possible in accordance with law, preferably within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order.

WPA 29195 of 2025 is disposed of without any order as to costs.
