Affidavit of service filed in Court is taken on record.

The petitioner claims interest on delayed payment of terminal benefits.
The petitioner superannuated from service of the WBTCL on February 29, 2016. He received his terminal benefits of Rs.15,56,309.67/- on 06.08.2016.

The petitioner is entitled to interest for the period from 01.03.2016 to 06.08.2016 at the rate of 6 per cent per annum. Let the same be paid to the petitioner by the WBTCL within a period of one month from date.

In default of payment as directed above, the rate of interest shall stand increased to 9 per cent per annum.

The issue of interest payable on differential gratuity is the subject matter of an appeal being A.P.O.T. No. 243 of 2022 (West Bengal Transport Corporation Limited and others - Vs. - Pravakar Ghosh and others).
The payment by the respondents of the same to the petitioner shall be subject to the result of the said appeal.

The writ petition is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

All parties are directed to act on a server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
