1. Petitioner is in custody for about three years. He submits he has been falsely implicated in the case. He prays for bail
2. Learned lawyer for the State opposes the bail prayer.
3. We have considered the materials on record. Acid was thrown on the face of the victim. She suffered permanent disfiguration. Trial is in progress. In view of the gravity of offence and the stage of the proceeding we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
4. Accordingly, prayer for bail is rejected.
5. Trial court is directed to expedite the trial and conclude the same at an early date.
