1. Learned counsel for the State has filed the report after serving the copy to the learned counsel for the petitioners, let the same be kept with the record.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioners has handed over the notice issued by the authorities dated 20th January, 2026 wherein Clause (e) states that <income and asset certificate for candidates belongs to economically weaker Section (EWS) valid for the year 2023-2024 or onwards.=
3. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that this notice has been issued with respect to the post of constable but the present application is for the post of Sub-Inspector of Police in the State of West Bengal. He
submits that if the authorities issue the same notice with respect to the post of Sub-Inspector of Police in the State of West Bengal, the petitioners will be satisfied.
4. Learned counsel for the State on instruction submits that the respondents will be issued the same notice with respect to the post of Sub-Inspector of Police in the State of West Bengal.
5. Accordingly, WPA 29340 of 2025 is disposed of by directing the authorities to issue the same notice with respect to the post of Sub-Inspector of Police in the State of West Bengal by stating that income and asset certificate for candidates belongs to economically weaker Section (EWS) valid for the year 2023-2024 or onwards within a week from date.
6. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
7. Urgent Photostat certified copy, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance with all formalities. (Krishna Rao, J.)
