The report filed by the Sanitary Inspector, Baranagar Municipality signed on March 21, 2024 is taken on record.

It mentions that the site was visited and it was found that the old cross over drain remains defunct in Ward No. 26. The inspector has opined that the problem may be resolved provided a new cross over drainage is constructed at the site.

As it appears that the Sanitary Inspector has already detected the problem and the solution thereto, accordingly, the Municipality is directed to take all necessary steps to make the cross over drainage ready so that the same may be functionable prior to the monsoon of the current year and positively by June 30, 2024.

The parties are directed to cooperate with the men and agents of the Municipality at the time of construction of the new cross over drainage.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
