Learned Counsel for the petitioner submits petitioner is in custody for about 655 days. He submits there is inordinate delay in trial. Accordingly, he prays for bail.

Learned Advocate for State opposes the bail prayer. 3.

We have considered the materials on record.

Petitioner had thrown acid on the victim resulting in severe injuries.

In view of the nature of crime and as trial has considerably progressed and five witnesses have already been examined, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.
