Petitioners are aggrieved by the fact that for the purposes of purchasing land a price was fixed for Rs.10,50,000/-, out of which the petitioners paid earnest money of Rs.1,10,000/-. However, the respondent no.5 did not execute any deed and refused to sell the same neither the respondent no.5 refunded the money. To that effect petitioners informed the Officer-in-Charge, Singur Police Station and subsequent to Superintendent of Police, Hooghly Rural District.

Having considered the nature of the accusations made the police authorities were handicapped in dealing with such situation. As such the petitioners, if they are so advised would approach Jurisdictional Criminal/Civil Court for appropriate remedies for direction upon the police authorities. In case any direction is passed police authorities would take steps for the purposes of

complying with the orders passed by the Jurisdictional Civil or Criminal Court concerned.

With the aforesaid observations WPA 28701 of 2023 is disposed of.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
