At the outset learned Counsel for the petitioners states that his prayer is limited to the petitioner no. 1. It is also stated that he shall file a separate writ petition for petitioner no. 2.

In view of the statement made by the learned counsel for the petitioners, the present writ petition is dismissed qua petitioner no. 2 with liberty to file a fresh writ petition on the same cause of action. 4.

Petitioner no. 1 has preferred the present writ petition seeking grant of electricity connection for a submersible pump which has been installed in a plot no. 1821, J.L. No. 112, Mouza -Araji Mishrabati, Gazole Police Station, District - Malda. It is a case of

the petitioner no. 1 that he has installed a submersible pump for carrying out agricultural activities. Electricity connection is required for the same. He had applied for the electricity connection on 23.10.2024. Quotation was issued on 19.02.2025 and the same has been deposited by the petitioner on 24.02.2025.

Learned Counsel for the respondent authorities states that fresh polls have to be erected for granting electricity connection to the petitioner no. 1. Learned counsel for the respondent authorities further submitted that they will be granting an electricity connection subject to the fulfillment of all the necessary formalities by the petitioner no. 1 within a period of 180 days from 24.02.2025.

In view of the statement made by the learned Counsel for the respondent authorities petitioner no. 1 is satisfied and does not wish to press the present writ petition.

Accordingly, the present writ petition is disposed of in terms of the statement made by the learned Counsel for the respondent authorities.

Learned Counsel for the petitioner no. 1 shall be at liberty to approach this Court in case WBSEDCL fails to grant electricity connection to the petitioner no. 1 despite fulfilling of all the necessary formalities within a period of 180 days.

With this direction the present writ petition is disposed of.

Urgent certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of necessary formalities.
