Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for two and a half years and the matter is fixed for examination of the petitioner under Section 313 of the Code of Criminal Procedure on 5th February, 2025.

Despite directions of this Court for efforts to be made by the learned Trial Court to pronounce judgment prior to the Puja vacation of 2023, the case is still pending. Learned counsel for the State produces the case diary and opposes the prayer.

It appears that bail prayers of the petitioner were turned down by this Court on at least three occasions upon consideration of the nature of accusation. Trial is at its fag

end. Despite specific direction of this Court, trial has not been completed within the stipulated time frame. In view of the above, the learned Trial Court is directed to examine the petitioner under Section 313 of the Code of Criminal Procedure on the next date fixed for the same and dispose of the case within 15th March, 2025.

The prayer for bail is rejected.

The application for bail, being CRM (SB) 177 of 2024, is, thus, disposed of.
