The petitioners complain that their participation is being restrained and/or the police authorities are not assisting them in exercising their rights on worshipping the deity on the relevant auspicious dates

and/or performing the rites on the said dates.

The petitioners have drawn the attention of the Court to the information furnished with the administrative authorities as also the orders passed earlier by this Court.

Mr.

Sengupta, learned Senior Government Advocate, appearing on behalf of the State, submits that the police has hardly any role in respect of the dispute complained of for rendering any police assistance.

State also takes an Exception to the prayers advanced in the writ petition.

Mr.

Guhathakurata, learned advocate, appearing for the private respondents, opposes the contentions advanced on behalf of the State and submits that a Civil Suit has been

initiated at the behest of the private respondents and an injunction order has been passed in the said civil suit.

Be that as it may, I have considered the representation made by the petitioners and I am of the view that the circumstances do not warrant any interference by the police authorities so far as the issues relating to performance of rites on the auspicious dates are concerned.

In view of the nature of the prayers sought for, I am of the view that the petitioners, if so advised, would approach the jurisdictional civil court for appropriate relief in respect of the prayers advanced in this writ petition, then only the police authorities would be in a position to assist them.

With the aforesaid observations,

WPA 30309 of 2024 is disposed of.

Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of.
