Petitioner(s) Mr. Jisan Iqubal Hossain ... for the Petitioner(s) Ms. Sukannya Bhattacharya Mr. Manoranjan Mahata ... for the State-respondent(s) Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was arrested on 14.05.2023 and till date he is in custody. It has also been submitted that the petitioner and the victim were in a relationship which, all of a sudden, snapped. Pursuant to which, this case has been initiated. Be that as it may, State is unable to satisfy why a person be detained for such a long time and only examination-in-chief of two witnesses be completed. It has also been brought to the notice of this court that 13 witnesses have been cited by the prosecution in the charge-sheet.

Having considered the same, as a matter of last chance, another three months' time is granted to the prosecution to complete at least all the vulnerable witnesses by 10th July, 2026. If the same is not complete within the

aforesaid period and the petitioner prays for bail, the learned trial court will consider the bail application of the present petitioner exercising its discretion according to the merits of the case.

Considering the gravity of the offence and the stage of the case, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail at this stage.

Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Rejected.

Accordingly, CRM(M) 27 of 2026 is dismissed.
