Ms. Sonal Sinha ...for the Municipality Mr. Priyamkar Saha Mr. Debangshu Dinda ...for the State It is the grievance of the petitioners that though they participated in a selection process for the post of "Mazdoor" in the year 2016 conducted by the English Bazar Municipality and their names featured in the select list, till date they have not been appointed to the said post.

On behalf of the English Bazar Municipality it has been submitted that all relevant records pertaining to the selection in question were sent to the Director of Local Bodies, West Bengal by a letter dated July 31, 2023, but thereafter, no steps have been taken by the Director of Local Bodies, West Bengal. I do not see any justification to keep this writ petition pending.

Accordingly, I dispose of this writ petition with a direction upon the Director of Local Bodies, West Bengal to take a decision with regard to the approval

of the appointment of the petitioners within a period of one month from the date of communication of this order.

The reasoned order should be communicated to the petitioners within a period of two weeks thereafter. Accordingly, WPA 29045 of 2023 is disposed of.
