The State of West Bengal Mr. Aniket Mitra .. for the petitioner Since the petitioner seeks expeditious disposal of Special Case No.06 of 2011 pending before the learned Additional District Judge, 3rd Court, Barasat, North 24 Parganas, the matter may be taken up for consideration without service of notice upon the opposite party. The opposite party shall not be prejudiced by an order directing expeditious disposal of the case.

This court is informed that the case is pending since 2011 and out of 12 charge-sheeted witnesses 2 witnesses have been examined in chief and the application filed by the accused under Section 231 of the Code of Criminal Procedure was allowed. In view of the period of pendency of the case, the learned trial court is directed to take the proceeding to its logical conclusion within one year from the next date of hearing fixed before him without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties, in accordance with law.

CRR 5377 of 2024 is accordingly disposed of.
