I find that CR Case No. 284 of 2019 is pending before the ld. JM, 3rd Court, Contai, Purba Medinipur. The very purpose of the legislation was to encourage banking transactions by way of negotiable instruments and the legislation subsequently expressed its intention for expeditious disposal of such cases and that is the purpose for which amended provisions were incorporated. It has been brought to the notice of the court that the next date is fixed on 10th of January, 2024 for disposal of the application under section 143(A) of the N.I. Act. The Ld. Magistrate would dispose of the same on the date so fixed and, thereafter, fix at least one date in every two months for the purposes of evidence of the present case

so that the trial of the case can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time. No unnecessary adjournment be granted to any of the parties. All efforts be taken by the ld. court below to conclude the trial at the earliest.

With the aforesaid observations, CRR 4980 of 2023 is disposed of.
