1. This intra-Court appeal by the State is directed against the order dated 21st December, 2023 passed in W.P.A. 28257 of 2023 filed by the respondents/writ petitioners seeking permission to conduct a demonstration with regard to the prayer for increase in Dearness Allowance.

2. The learned Advocate General submitted that when permission was sought for, the venue, which was chosen, was not agreed to and four alternatives were suggested. However, all of a sudden, from yesterday night, the people have assembled there and a demonstration is going on.

3. Considering the fact that the demonstration has already commenced and also taking note of the fact that festive season has begun and Christmas celebrations are on, we direct the respondent/organization to wind up the demonstration by 4:00 p.m. tomorrow i.e. 23rd December, 2023.

4. It is needless to state that the demonstration shall be peaceful and no derogatory statement or slogans should be raised during the course of demonstration.

5. With the above observations and directions, the appeal and the connected application stand disposed of.

6. No costs.

7. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be furnished to the parties expeditiously upon compliance of all legal formalities.
