Pleader Mr. Supratim Dhar, Mr. Nilotpal Chatterjee, Advocates ... for the State This public interest litigation is filed by the petitioners who are primary teachers in representative capacity raising the grievance that the current pay-scale of primary teachers in West Bengal under District Primary School Council are much lower than the payscale given to the similarly situated primary school teachers of many States other than the West Bengal and that of Madrasahs which are under the same education department of the State.

This petition was filed in the year 2017 and no one is present to prosecute the present petition.

Learned counsel for the State has pointed out that the petitioners have already filed a detailed comprehensive representation dated 24.11.2017 to the respondent No.1, the Secretary, School Education Department and there is no objection in considering the representation of the petitioners.

Hence, without going into the merits of the matter, the present petition is disposed of by directing the respondent No.1 to consider the petitioners'

WPA 31385 of 2017 representation dated 24.11.2017 in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of 3 months from the date of receipt of the copy of this order.

Learned counsel for the State is directed to send a copy of this order along with a copy of the representation dated 24.11.2017 to the respondent No.1 without any delay.

Learned counsel for the State is further permitted to obtain a photocopy of the petition along with enclosures from the department at his own cost.

Petition is accordingly disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties on usual undertaking.
