1. Let affidavit-of-service, as filed in Court, be kept on record.

2. The writ petition is for mercy rather than for redressal of any grievance for violation of a right.

3. The petitioner submits that she had inadvertently filled-up the form under EWS category. She, however, sought to rectify the same by a letter dated August, 26, 2025, to be able to apply under the OBC-A(State) category.

4. The petitioner, in spite of representation of August 28, 2025, made by her, sat for the second SLST examination in the year 2025 under the EWS category.

The results were published on December 12, 2025 and the writ petition was filed on December 22, 2025.

5. Having taken the examination as a candidate under a particular category and having waited for the results, the petitioner cannot, at this belated stage, be permitted to change her category from EWS to OBC-A. Such change would, in all probabilities, impinge the right of a successful candidate, who has applied under the OBC category.

6. I am not inclined to entertain this writ petition at this stage. On the prayer of the learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner, I make it clear that the petitioner will be at liberty to present her credentials in the general category which will be duly considered by the concerned authorities in accordance with law.

7. The writ petition, thus, fails and is hereby dismissed.

8. In view of dismissal of the writ petition, connected application being CAN 1 of 2026 is also dismissed.

9. There shall, however, be no order as to costs.

10. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties on usual undertaking.
