The grievance of the petitioners is directed against an advertisement published for appointment of 'Anganwadi Worker, for Chowberia-II Gram Panchayat, North 24Parganas.

It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that despite initial steps taken in the selection process, no appointment has taken place in terms of the above advertisement.

On behalf of the State, it is submitted that there is gross and inordinate delay of the petitioner in approaching this Court. It is also submitted that there has been no recruitment in respect of the subject post for more than 12 years. As such, the instant writ petition pertains

to a stale grievance and the petitioner is not entitled to any relief.

The advertisement was published as far back as on 2009. As submitted by the State, since no new recruitment has been made available for more than 12 years, there is no question of granting any relief to the petitioner. It appears that the claim of the petitioner in respect of the subject advertisement is stale and outdated and has lost all significance in view of the inordinate, unexplained and unjustified delay in approaching this Court.

WPA 30362 of 2024 stands disposed of without any order as to costs.
