The second petitioner is the biological mother of one male child namely Riddhit who is a minor. The first petitioner is the adoptive father of the said child. The biological father of the minor child expired on October 6, 2008.

After the death of the husband of the second petitioner, the petitioners have entered into a marriage and are leading a happy married life. The parties intend to incorporate the adoptive father's surname and adoptive father's name in all the educational certificates and documents of the minor child.

Request made by the petitioner no. 1 before the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination is pending disposal.

Prayer has been made to direct the Council to make the necessary changes in the official records

of the minor child.

Learned advocate representing the school submits, upon instructions, that the school has already forwarded all documents required for such change before the concerned authority. The fees required for effecting the necessary changes have already been deposited by the petitioners. 6.

As it appears that the request made by the petitioner no. 1 on August 24, 2025 appearing at page 31 of the writ petition through the school is pending consideration before the Council, accordingly, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Council to take necessary steps in accordance with the request made on behalf of the minor child for incorporating the surname 'Guha' in the educational certificates. The name of the minor son should be read as 'Riddhit Guha'. 7.

Steps shall be taken by the Council at the earliest but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.

The documents handed over by the learned counsel for the school showing uploading of all documents in the portal of the Council and the payment transaction details be retained with the records.

Affidavit of service is also taken on record. 10.

All parties are to act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Certified copy of this order, if applied for, shall be made available to the parties.
