1. Respondent nos. 1, 2 and 3 have filed a report in the form of an affidavit, which is kept on record.

2. It appears from the tenor of the report that the answers to the question no. 59 of „Y‟ Series" and question no. 62 of „X‟ Series" ought to have been "B" in both.

3. It has been also clarified in paragraph 9 of the report that the question ought to have been "who was the first Indian woman to become the President of Indian National Congress?". The answer to this question would have been "Sarojini Naidu". However, the word "Indian" was inadvertently omitted from the question. The question thus read "who was the first woman to become the President of the Indian National Congress?". The answer to this question is "Annie

Besant", in both the questions of 59 and 62 of the „Y‟ Series" and „X‟ Series" respectively.

4. The petitioners had, thus, correctly exercised the option and were entitled to the marks which they had been denied.

5. Respondent no. 1 is, thus, directed to award the additional marks to both petitioners in view of the aforestated clarification given in the report.

6. I make it clear that this will not create any precedence as the examination pertains to the Session of 2024.

7. Needless to mention that the consequential steps upon adding the marks to both petitioners will be taken by the College Authorities as well as the Commission.

8. With these aforestatead directions, the writ petition is disposed of.

9. There shall, however, be no order as to costs.

10. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties on usual undertaking.
