Subsequently again information was furnished on 10.01.2025 when the police authorities also did not take any step. Learned advocate appearing for the State has submitted a report. Report reflects that Bhabanipur Police Station Case No. 10/2025 dated 07.01.2025 has been registered for investigation, and another case being Bhabanipur Police Station Case No. 13/2025 dated 10.01.2025 was registered for investigation.

Petitioner alleges misconduct of the Postmaster of Tamluk post office. The police authorities of Tamluk police station has received information by way of Tamluk Police Station GDE No. 1208 dated 17.01.2025. It is also reflected in the report of the Inspector-in-charge, Tamluk Police Station that over the incident specific case has been registered at Bhabanipur Police Station. Learned advocate appearing for the respondent no.9 is present and submits that respondent no. 9 has no objection in case the amount is disbursed in favour of the petitioner.

Having considered that the police authorities have taken steps and the principal grievance of the petitioner is against the respondent no. 7 being the Postmaster of Tamluk post office, I am of the view that the petitioner, in either of the two cases referred to above, would approach the jurisdictional Magistrate with necessary prayers since more than 90 days have passed from the date of registration of the FIR.

In view of the observations made above, further pendency of the writ petition is unwarranted.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 30659 of 2024 is disposed of.

Two reports submitted by the learned advocate appearing for the State be also kept with the record.
