1. The petitioner seeks relief in terms of the order no. 930/PL/O/Secret/2M-17/23 dated 14th July, 2023 passed by the Special Secretary, Government of West Bengal, Home & Hill Affairs Department.

2. The petitioner alleges that her husband, namely, Fulchand Sk died in the incident related to Panchayat General Elections 2023.

3. A request was made by the petitioner before the District Magistrate, Murshidabad to grant relief in terms of the aforesaid order. The same is alleged to be kept pending.

4. Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that during the pendency of the writ petition,

the petitioner was directed to contact the office of the State Election Commission and she has been informed that her application is under process.

5. The instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the District Magistrate, Murshidabad to consider and dispose of the representation filed by the petitioner in terms of the Government Order dated 14th July, 2023 mentioned hereinabove at the earliest but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.

6. If the petitioner is found entitled to the relief in terms of the said order, then necessary consequential steps shall be taken by the authority without any further delay.

7. Affidavit-of-service filed today by Court be kept with the records.

8. The writ petition stands disposed of.

9. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
