1. None appears on behalf of the petitioner nor has any accommodation been prayed for.

2. None appears for the respondent no. 7 also.

3. Ms. Sinha, learned Advocate appearing for the State Election Commission, submits that the assertion of the plaintiff relating to issuance of two EPIC numbers to the same person ought to have been dealt by the Election Commission of India.

4. The Election Commission of India has not been made a party to the instant writ petition.

5. Mr. Chatterjee, learned Advocate appearing for the State, files his report. Let such report be kept on record.

6. He submits that in the hearing, held by the respondent no. 4, respondent no. 7 had appeared and admitted that she had applied for and

received a new EPIC number, only for the purpose of admission of her child to a local school in Karnataka. In fact, she had, immediately after her child's admission, applied for deletion of her name in Form-7 on November 30, 2024 and her name has been deleted from the second EPIC number.

7. However, since the petitioner is not represented, the matter is dismissed for default.

8. There shall, however, be no order as to costs.

9. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties on usual undertaking.
