Petitioner is a senior citizen of around 80 years of age and complains that she had been thrown away from her residence at the instance of the private respondent no. 4. She has informed the concerned police station being Garfa Police Station.

In case the petitioner reports to the police station between 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. on 15.01.2025 or thereafter, the Officer-in-Charge of the concerned police station would deploy police personnel who would escort her to the premises referred to in the writ petition. A lady constable be deployed who every alternate date would visit the premises and ascertain as to whether any physical or mental torture is being inflicted upon the petitioner.

Such arrangement would continue for a period of 4 weeks.

Within the aforesaid period, petitioner would approach the appropriate authority under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.

If any order is passed by the concerned authority, the police authorities would continue to respect and obey such order.

With the aforesaid observations WPA 30912 of 2024 is disposed of.
