Five persons have approached this Court with the present writ petition with common grievance that they are not getting job to prepare mid-day meal. Prayer is made for issuance of mandamus directing the concerned respondent authorities to allot work in favour of the petitioners in connection with preparation of mid-day meal.

State respondents and school authorities of Bijoydih High School , Purulia being respondent nos. 7 and 8 are represented by learned advocates who have jointly opposed this writ petition on the strength of a resolution adopted on 2nd September, 2024 in presence of the concerned Block Development Officer. It is submitted that based on such resolution work is allotted in favour of four selected groups to prepare mid-day meal. Having considered the submissions made on behalf of the parties and on perusal of the resolution dated 2nd September, 2024 which was adopted in presence of concerned Block Development Officer, it appears that four self-help groups were selected to prepare mid-day meal and those four self-help groups are from two different villages.

Since petitioners are not associated with any one of those four self-help groups as indicated in the resolution dated 2nd September, 2024, based on grievance ventilated by presenting this writ petition no order can be passed directing the concerned respondent authorities to allot work in favour of the petitioners in connection with preparation of mid-day meal. Moreover, the resolution dated 2nd September, 2024 is not under challenge in the present writ petition.

Hence, the writ petition stands dismissed.

There shall be, however, no order as to costs. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties on usual undertaking. (Saugata Bhattacharyya, J.)
