Report filed by the State is also taken on record. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner is an accused in this case. Although the FIR was lodged in April, 2017 and charge was framed in June, 2017 on allegations, inter alia, under Sections 4 and 6 of POCSO Act, till date trial could not be completed. The matter has remained pending for no fault of the petitioner. Out of 16 witnesses, the 11th witness is now being examined in part. Next date of hearing has been fixed on 27.08.2025. Learned counsel for the State submits that considering the delay in disposal of the trial, shorter dates may be fixed.

It appears that there is an inordinate delay in concluding the trial, especially considering the fact that there are POCSO Act charges that are being tried.

In view of the above and in the interest of justice, the trial court is directed to conclude the proceeding as early as possible without granting any unnecessary adjournment to any of the parties and by keeping in mind the statutory stipulations regarding expeditious trial as contained under the POCSO Act.

With these observations and directions, the revisional application is disposed of.
