Mr. Lal Ratan Mondal Mr. Prabal Sarkar ... petitioner The writ petitioner seeks higher pay scales pursuant to having acquired an M.A. in Geography. The petitioner joined as Assistant Teacher in Cooch Behar Town High School in Graduate Honours/P.G. category post. The Board at the request of the School granted leave to the petitioner to undergo the Post Graduate course vide communication dated 1st August, 2015. The petitioner claims Post Graduate scale since after acquiring the said degree.

The writ petitioner claims that he has obtained the said Post Graduate degree on 15th May, 2012. In those circumstances, the petitioner shall make a formal application for Post Graduate scales of pay pursuant to having acquired higher qualifications to the headmaster of the Cooch Behar Town High School, who shall verify the said application and documents, and forward the same to D.I. of Schools (S.I.), Cooch Behar immediately.

The D.I. of Schools, Coach Behar shall take a decision in the matter after verifying all records from the school within a period of two months from the date of communication of a copy of this order. The order that may be passed may be communicated to the petitioner and school within a period of one week thereof.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition is disposed of.
