The petitioner undertakes to affirm and stamp the petition/application as per Rules within one month of resumption of normal functioning of the Court. Subject to such undertaking, the application is taken up for hearing through video conference. The learned advocate for the petitioner submits that initially a case was registered against the complainant and others for abducting the present petitioner. The learned advocate adds that the present petitioner is a primary school teacher and a gang is operating for extracting ransom on the basis of forge and fake documents. He further submits that as the petitioner is innocent and he has been falsely implicated, there is no reason for taking the petitioner into custody in connection with the instant case. Learned advocate for the State produces the case diary and draws the attention of this Court to the recording of statements of

witnesses as also the seizure list and the number of persons who have been affected by the act of the present petitioner. We have taken into account the materials available in the case diary, which prima facie reflect that for the purpose of investigation the custodial interrogation of the present petitioner is necessary.

As such, we are not inclined to extend the privilege of anticipatory bail to the present petitioner.
