Considering the urgency pleaded by the petitioner in CAN 1 of 2020, the instant writ petition is taken up for hearing via video conference.

Accordingly, the application being CAN 1 of 2020 is disposed of.

The petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that his wife is missing.

Counsel for the State submits that the fact of the petitioner's wife being untraced was complained of by the petitioner's father-in-law and compliant was registered as a missing person's case. He further submits that all steps for tracing out the person including publication in the local media were initiated by the police.

Subsequently, the police were informed that the missing petitioner's wife has returned back to her matrimonial house.

The petitioner in this writ petition stated that the petitioner's wife is living with the seventh respondent.

The petitioner's remedies are, therefore, elsewhere in law.

This Court does not find any inaction on the part of the police in this regard.

The instant writ petition is dismissed with liberty to the petitioner to take appropriate steps in respect of his wife in accordance with law.

The report dated 13th September, 2020 filed by the Officer-in-charge, Burdwan Police Station in Court today be taken on record.

There will be no order as to costs.

All parties are directed to act on a server copy of this order on usual undertakings.
