Having considered the materials on record prima facie disclosing involvement of the petitioner as one of the members of the group who mercilessly assaulted the victim resulting in his

death, we are of the opinion that in view of gravity of the offence this is not a fit case to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. The application for anticipatory bail is, thus, rejected. (Suvra Ghosh, J.) (Joymalya Bagchi, J.)
