The petitioner undertakes to affirm and stamp the petition/application as per the Rules within one month of resumption of normal functioning of the Court. The petition is taken up through video conference on the basis of such undertaking.

Accordingly, CRAN 1 of 2020 is disposed of.

Learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that there are discrepancies regarding the sum which was demanded as ransom for the abduction and the manner in which it was so demanded. The petitioner is in custody for more than 600 days.

Learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the State strongly opposes the prayer for bail. He submits that arms were recovered from the possession of the petitioner.

Considering the seriousness of the allegation and the alleged complicity of the petitioner, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. The application for bail is rejected.
