The petitioner is in custody for 795 days in connection with Jagacha Police Station Case No. 108 of 2018 under Section 20(b)(ii) (B)(C) of the NDPS Act.

It is frankly submitted by the learned advocate for the petitioner that the petitioner wants that the trial of the case should be concluded at an early date in view of long detention of the petitioner.

Since the prayer for bail is not seriously pressed, we are not inclined to release the petitioner on bail.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail is rejected.

However, in view of the order passed in CRM 3745 of 2019 dated 24.04.2019 by a Co-ordinate Bench, the Special Court, NDPS Act, Howrah is directed to commence the trial of the case, either virtually or physically within a fortnight from the date of communication of this order and conclude the trail preferably within six months from date of this order. Let a copy of this order be sent to the learned Judge, Special Court NDPS Act, Howrah for information and compliance.

The application for bail being C.R.M. 6617 of 2020 and C.R.A.N. 1 of 2020 are disposed of.
