...Petitioners
Mr. Saryati Dutta ... for the petitioners Mr. Arijit Ganguly ... for the State The petitioners undertake to affirm and stamp the petition/application as per the Rules within one month of resumption of normal functioning of the Court. The petition is taken up through video conference on the basis of such undertaking. CRAN 1 of 2020 is accordingly, disposed of.
The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners are in no way involved in the alleged incident of burning and all of them have been falsely implicated. Learned counsel for the State strongly opposes the prayer for anticipatory bail.
It is submitted that the statements given by the victim to the medical officer would clearly shows that all the petitioners are instrumental in pouring the kerosene oil on her body, inasmuch as, the sister-in-law had played an active role in the commission of the alleged offence.
Considering the materials against the petitioners and the statement of the victim directly implicating all the accused persons,
we are not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners. The application for anticipatory bail is, accordingly, rejected. (Saugata Bhattacharyya, J.) (Soumen Sen, J.)
