(Via Video Conference) Ms. Tanuja Basak ... for the petitioner Considering the urgency pleaded by the petitioner in CAN 1 of 2020, the instant petition is taken up for hearing via video conference.

Accordingly, the application being CAN 1 of 2020 is disposed of.

The petitioner seeks reciprocal recognition and/or registration by the West Bengal Nursing Council of a degree in nursing called B.Sc (Nursing) obtained from the T.N. MGR University and registered with Tamilnadu Nurses and Midwives Council, Chennai. A representation in this regard is pending since July 2019 and subsequently made in January 2020. There is also a request from the Indian Nursing Council dated January 23, 2020 to consider reciprocal recognition subject to conditions.

In those circumstances, the respondent no. 4 shall consider the petitioner's representation for recognition and her degree under reciprocal

arrangement in the Government of West Bengal as expeditiously as possible.

The said respondent no. 4 being the Registrar, West Bengal Nursing Council shall take suitable decision on the matter within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The respondent no. 4 shall pass a reasoned order in this regard and communicate the same to the petitioner within a period of seven days thereof.

With the aforesaid directions, WPA 7161 of 2020 is disposed of.

All the parties are to act on a server copy of this order on the usual undertaking.
