14.10.2020 Ct. No.10 SL No.66 KS IA No: CAN 1 of 2020 + W.P.A. No.7194 of 2020 Kashinath Roy & Ors.

Versus

The State of West Bengal & Ors.

(Via Video Conference) [[ Mr. Abhijit Ray .....For the Petitioners Mr. Chandi Charan De Ms. Srelekha Bhattacharya Mr. Anirban Sarkar .....For the State CAN 1 of 2020 is disposed of by taking up the writ petition for consideration.

Petitioners seek direction upon the respondents to take appropriate steps in terms of the complaints lodged. Learned advocate appearing for the State draws the attention of the Court to the letter dated July 3, 2020 issued by the District Nodal Officer, Paschim Medinipur, MGNREGA Cell. She submits that, the concerned Block Development Officer may be directed to dispose of the complaints made by the petitioners.

In such circumstances, in my view, interest of justice would be sub-served by requiring the respondent no.3 to consider and dispose of the complaints made by the petitioners as annexed to the writ petition, in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order to the respondent no.3. The respondent no.3 will afford a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioners. He is at liberty to hear such other parties and consult such documents that he deems appropriate. He will pass a reasoned order which he will communicate to the parties forthwith thereafter. W.P.A. No.7194 of 2020 is disposed of.
