Bhattacharyya, Ms. Ruchira Chatterjee ... for petitioners Mr. Arjun Ray Mukherjee ...for State Mr. Bhattacharyya, learned advocate appears on behalf of petitioners and submits, petitioners were candidates seeking recruitment as constables. They were not called for interview. They applied for information under Right to Information Act, 2005. Information was denied to them citing provision in clause (b) of sub-section (1) in section 8. His clients preferred appeal to the superior officer, under section 19(1). Those appeals have not been dealt with. Hence, this writ petition as his clients are convinced, they were wrongly not called for interview.

Mr. Mukherjee, learned advocate appears on behalf of State and submits, there is nothing to be decided in the writ petition since the result of the recruitment process has now been published, including all information regarding successful and unsuccessful candidates. This information was uploaded in the website and available for access in the period between 15th to 31st October, 2020. On query from Court he submits,

the information will be obtained and supplied to petitioners' advocate within course of a week.

Respondent nos. 3 and 5, either by themselves or through their learned advocate, will supply petitioners' learned advocate with print of the information that was uploaded regarding successful and unsuccessful candidates in the recruitment process, regarding which petitioners have moved Court. This must be done by 27th November, 2020. The writ petition is disposed of with above direction, it being made clear that only the matter of obtaining information has been decided in the context of petitioners' grievance agitated regarding recruitment process. Accordingly, the connected application is also disposed of.
