Mr. Chatterjee, learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for more than 270 days and prays for bail.

The Learned Advocate further submits that considering the period of detention and on the grounds stated in the charge

sheet the principal accused has been left out for reasons best known to the Investigating Officer.

Mr. Mukherjee, learned advocate along with Mr. Panda, learned advocate appears on behalf of the State. On scanning of the case diary, it is reflected from the papers under Section 172 Cr.P.C. that the specimen signature of the accused has been collected very recently on or about middle of November, 2020. In view of the prayer of the investigating agency for filing supplementary charge sheet the opinion of the expert to the best of the understanding of the Court is required. Thus, considering the stage of investigation and the period for which the petitioner was not available within the reach of the investigating agency, I do not think it would be fit and proper to release the petitioner on bail till the final opinion of the examiner of question document is received by the investigating agency. Needless to state that the manner in which the transaction has been carried out is sufficient in the ordinary course of things to dislodge or disrupt the confidence of the banking system.

Having regard to the aforesaid, the application for bail of the petitioner is rejected at this stage.
