C.A.N.1 of 2020 is application for urgent consideration of the writ petition. The application is disposed of by taking up the writ petition for consideration.

Petitioner complains of unauthorised construction. Learned advocate appearing on behalf of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation Authorities submits on instruction that the Corporation Authorities visited the locale, found unauthorised construction, lodged a complaint with the police and contemplate appropriate proceeding for the purpose of removal of such unauthorised construction.

In the facts of the present case, since the Corporation Authorities have found unauthorised construction at the locale, and have taken steps as noted above, it would be appropriate to direct the Corporation Authorities to institute proceeding under Section 400(1) of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation Act, 1980 within a period of fortnight from date. It is expected that such proceedings are concluded within a period of four months from the date of its commencement.
