CAN 1 of 2020 is disposed of by taking up the writ petition for consideration.

Petitioner seeks compensation for the death of his child by electrocution.

The electricity company and the State are represented.

It appears from the records made available to Court that, the petitioner applied to various authorities for compensation on account of death of his son by electrocution. Learned advocate for the Distribution Company submits that, the distribution company constituted a

committee to consider applications for compensation on account of electrocution.

In such circumstances, the respondent no. 3 will forward the application for compensation made by the petitioner to such committee for consideration. Such committee will consider and decide the application, in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of communication of this order. The committee will afford an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner. The commmittee is at liberty to hear such other parties and consult such documents that it deems necessary. The committee will communicate its reasoned order to the parties it had heard forthwith thereafter.

WPA No. 7380 of 2020 is disposed of without any order as to costs.
