The petitioner undertakes to affirm and stamp the petition/application as per the Rules within a month of resumption of normal functioning of the court. Subject to such undertaking, the application is taken up through video conference. CRAN 1 of 2020 is accordingly, disposed of.

In view of the extent of complicity of the petitioner in the alleged crime as revealed from the case diary and the materials on record and having regard to the fact that considerable progress has been made in the trial, we are not inclined to release the petitioner on bail.

We request the learned Additional Sessions Judge, Malda to expedite the trial and to conclude the trial preferably within a period of one year from resumption of normal functioning of the court.
