Mr. Anirban Dutta ... For the petitioner. Ms. Chama Mookerji, Ms. Kakali Das ... For the State respondents. The petitioner complains of police inaction.

Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that there are matrimonial disputes between the petitioner and the husband.

Her husband filed a divorce proceeding giving the address as that of the petitioner. The petitioner want to know the address of her husband.

Learned advocate appearing for the State submits that the police enquired into the complaint. The husband of the petitioner visited the police station on September 17, 2020 and informed the police that he does not want to disclose his address because the petitioner would disturb him there.

The husband being an adult, cannot be forced to disclose his whereabouts to the petitioner by the police.

The husband is not an accused in any criminal proceeding.

In such circumstances, the police having taken steps as noted above no further interference is called for.

W.P.A. 7445 of 2020 along with interim application being I.A. No. : CAN 1 of 2020 is disposed of accordingly.

The parties shall act in terms of the copy of the order downloaded from the official website of this Court.
