AG Mr. Sayan Sinha ... for the State This writ petition has been filed praying for a writ in the nature of quo warranto challenging the appointment of the 8th respondent as the Director of the Kolkata Police Institute of Law.

The State has filed an affidavit. It is stated in the affidavit that the 8th respondent has since resigned from the post of Director of the said institute. In view of the aforesaid, the writ application becomes of academic interest.

We leave all issues open and dispose of the writ application.

The writ application being WPA 7658 of 2020 and the application being IA no. CAN 1 of 2020 are accordingly disposed of.
