Learned advocate appearing for the petitioners draws the attention of the Court to the averments made in the writ petition.

He submits that private respondents caused the people of the locality to ensure a social boycott of the petitioners. Police are inactive on the complaint lodged.

State and the private respondents are represented. Learned advocate appearing for the private respondents submits that the private respondents never caused any social boycott.

Learned advocate appearing for the State submits that two complaints were received by the police and both were investigated into. One of the complaints resulted in a proceeding under Section 107 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The other complaint is under investigation.

In the facts of the present case, since the petitioners complain of social boycott, apart from the police inaction, it would be appropriate to request the respondent no.3 to ensure that the petitioners are not subjected to social boycott. He is requested to take appropriate remedies with regard to any social boycott that may happen at the locality. The police will ensure that no breach of peace takes place at the locale.

W.P.A.7726 of 2020 is disposed of.
