For the State The petitioners submit that the election of the Gram Panchayat of Mangalda Moutorh at Raghunathpur -II, Purulia was made some time in the year 2018 but since thereafter the first meeting has not been held for the purpose of electing the Pradhan, till date.

The learned advocate appearing for the State respondents submits that the first meeting could not be held because there was pandemonium and the Presiding Officer had to run away from the said place.

Be that as it may, it has not been disputed that the first meeting is yet to be held in accordance with law.

That being the position, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent No. 5, being the Prescribed Authority and the Block

Development Officer, Raghunathpur-II Development Block to take necessary steps for holding the first meeting, strictly in accordance with law, within a period of three weeks from the date of communication of a copy of this order.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon completion of usual legal formalities.
