Petitioners are represented though no one is appearing for the respondents when the matter is called on.

From the record, it is found that no affidavit in opposition is submitted in spite of direction of this Court. Therefore, the matter is taken up for consideration on merit, in absence of the respondents.

Petitioners' prayer in the writ petition is for a Writ of Mandamus against the concerned respondent for approval of their names for appointment as Guest Lecturers.

Mr. Bari, learned advocate, appearing for the petitioners has submitted that the petitioners have been initially engaged as Guest Lecturers in a college but subsequently for certain compelling reasons they discontinued. He has pointed out to Annexure P-4 to the writ petition, i.e., letter dated 23.12.2019, written on

behalf of the college to the Director of Public Instruction, i.e., respondent no. 2 here, for consideration of engagement of the present petitioners. Mr. Bari says that the same has not yet been considered by the concerned respondent authority. Hence, his clients have moved this Court with the prayer as above.

Considering the records as well as the submissions made on behalf of the petitioners, it is found proper that this writ petition be disposed of with the direction upon the respondent no. 2, to consider the recommendation letter on behalf of the college dated 23.12.2019, as mentioned above, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners and the college authority and pass a reasoned order as to the same.

The entire exercise as above should be concluded within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order, by the respondent no. 2.

With these directions, the writ petition is disposed of.
