On the said date, the Hon'ble Court observed as follows :
"Having considered the rival submissions and, anxiously considering the materials placed, this Court while undoubtedly finding persuasive value in the stand taken by the petitioner that delay in conducting the trial enables the petitioner to obtain bail, at the same time, cannot miss the strong, brooding presence of the observations made by the
Hon'ble Court from time to time in the interest of a timely conclusion of the trial."
Heard Mr. Chatterjee, learned advocate appearing for the petitioner.
Mr. Banerjee, learned advocate appearing for the State submits that the next date for argument has been fixed on 14th July, 2021. Let the documents, as produced, be kept on record. Considering the stage of the trial, we are not inclined to exercise any discretion in favour of the petitioner at this stage. However, we direct the learned Court below to conclude the trial, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of two months from the date fixed for arguments i.e. 14th July, 2021.
