Petitioner seeks electricity connection.

Learned advocate appearing for the Distribution Company submits that, the distribution company attempted to give electric connection when the private respondent obstructed the officials of the distribution company to effect electric supply. She submits that, a complained was lodged with the police. The police are yet to render adequate assistance.

None appears for the private respondent despite service.

Since the petitioner is in settled possession and since the distribution company is of the view that the petitioner is entitled to electric supply and, since,

private respondent obstructed the distribution company from effecting electric supply to the petitioner, it would be appropriate to direct the local police authorities to ensure that, no breach of peace occurs at the locale when the officials of the distribution company effects electric supply to the petitioner. It is expected that, the distribution company and the police effect electric supply to the petitioner within seven days from date.

W.P.A.7888 of 2020 is disposed of.
