Case No. 381/2019 under Sections 419/468/471 of the Indian Penal Code corresponding to G.R. No. 4176 of 2019.

The petitioner undertakes to affirm and stamp the petition as per the Rules within 48 hours of resumption of normal functioning of the court. The petition is taken up through video conference on the basis of such undertaking.

The petitioner claims that though the charge is serious, the petitioner has nothing to do with the fabrication of any document or the forgery complained of.

The State claims that the racket is wide and involves several parcels of land and it is imperative that the petitioner be interrogated to ascertain the extent of the illegal activities and the transaction indulged in on the basis of forged and fabricated documents. In view of the gravity of the offence, the custodial interrogation of the petitioner cannot be excused. It is necessary that the Investigating

Agency should immediately get the complete picture so that land transactions based on forgery can be unearthed. The prayer for anticipatory bail is rejected. CRM 7565 of 2020 is disposed of.
