The petitioner in the writ petition claims to be a lessee of a godown situated Maheshtala, Kolkata owned by the private respondent nos. 4 and 5. It is alleged that the private respondents are not allowing the petitioner to have access to the said godown wherein valuable goods of the petitioner are lying. The petitioner has approached this Court seeking direction upon the police authorities to render assistance for having access to the said godown.

Considering the facts of the case as discussed above, I find that the disputes between the petitioner and the private respondents are purely private disputes which are required to be adjudicated by the competent civil court.

Accordingly, the writ petition being W.P.A.

7990 of 2020 stands rejected.

It is, however, made clear that this order shall not stand in the way of the petitioner

approaching the competent civil court for appropriate order.
